Race to the Truth Book Group (Gr 5-7) -Meeting 2/3

Tuesday, November 124:00—5:00 PMStory hour/Craft roomNorfolk Public Library2 Liberty Lane, Norfolk, MA, 02056

We all known the Thanksgiving story of pilgrims and Native Americans, feasting as friends and celebrating - but is that really how it happened?

Become a history detective by joining Miss Allison in reading Linda Coombs' Race to the Truth: Colonization and the Wampanoag Story. We'll explore what truly happened in America's earliest days from the perspective of the Wampanoag, as well as why it matters.

We'll meet three times to discuss the book and do fun activities:

  • October 29: Discuss chapters 1-4
  • November 12: Discuss chapters 5-8
  • November 26: Discuss chapters 9-13

Each participant will receive a free copy of the book prior to the first meeting, provided by Mass Center for the Book's 2024 Great Reads from Great Places program.

For kids in grades 5-7.

Capacity: 6 of 9 spaces available.
